Sacred Pentagraph is a “complete” system of Wicca carried out in the lodge-system format in order to bring up and train competent Occultists. While we all realize our tradition and methods may not be for everyone, we are always happy to work with others and to share competent classical Occult practices with seekers and peers alike.
For the Wolfa Coven, it all started when we were able to hand-copy both sets of the “Book of Lights” in order to implement and carry on the tradition. Ever since, we have continued to offer and perform valid initiations into classical witchcraft in order to help fellow occultists “rise up on the planes” through valid Occult practices and help educate and network with others who are interested in Occult and psychic sciences.
My first set of hand-copied Book of Lights of the Sacred Pentagraph, lovingly scribed from Elder V* of the tradition’s copies. Since that time, countless others have copied their own from my copy and have carried on the tradition throughout various corners of the U.S.
While I can’t go into full history of the Sacred Pentagraph tradition itself here in this short announcement on Book IV & V’s release, I can give you a very brief synopsis of our tradition’s history as it has been shared with me….
Things all began to stir from the friendship of Charmaine Dey (June Day) and Sybil Leek, who had met through the Theosophical Society of Houston, Texas where they both had residence in the 1960s. Sybil Leek was a famous witch who moved from the New Forest of England and during her stay in Houston, opened up “Sybil Leek’s Cauldron“, which was a restaurant and psychic parlor.
Sybil then establishes residence as well in Las Vegas in order to open up an astrology school that taught astrology students via comprehensive courses called “Astrology Dynamics“. These astrology courses were put out by Sybil Leek & Charles Luntz (Luntz was the President of the Theosophical Society of St. Louis Missouri) and the school distributed the courses in the brick-and-mortar astrology schools. Charmaine and her husband moved to Las Vegas when Sybil did and eventually opened up the “Bell, Book & Candle” Occult shop and sold many items related to sorcery and witchcraft practice. They also later incorporated a Church at the site called the All Saints Church of Mystic Science.
Tarostar soon partnered with Charmaine at the Occult shop and they created a unique brand of Occult oils, powders, incenses and Occult supplies, and Sybil continued to teach Charmaine Wicca. Much of the Sacred Pentagraph materials were fleshed out by Tarostar from the copious notes on Wicca practice between Charmaine & Sybil during their sessions together, as Sybil was very instrumental in assisting how the tradition would be implemented. They would then come to establish one of the North American branches of the Horsa Tradition. The inner core around the Bell, Book & Candle carried out the practices of the tradition.
As time went on, it was decided by the Elders to put the teachings into five distinct books – hence the name, Sacred Pentagraph, with Penta meaning “Five” and graph meaning “books,” hence, “Sacred Five Books.”
Tarostar has written many wonderful spellbooks over the years since the 1980s and has contributed to many Craft publications. His spellbooks are still well-loved by many in Witchcraft, Hoodoo & Occult Shop Magical practice and still utilized by many practitioners all over the world to this day.
Charmaine Dey (June Day) passed in 1983 and Sybil passed in 1982, but not before leaving their marks on the Occult world.
Charmaine’s book, “The Magic Candle” is one of the book’s she is best known for and is very much a well-loved book by those who practice both Hoodoo and Witchcraft. This represents a combination of what Charmaine was learning, Hoodoo from her time in Texas and Witchcraft from Sybil Leek.
Now today, thanks to the tireless work of Tarostar to ensure the legacy of Sacred Pentagraph can still continue to benefit seekers of Occult wisdom, you can now read about the system and purchase all five books in two published volumes. If it wouldn’t have been for his continued dedication and tireless work, I don’t know where we would be today in our Wicca practice. It has truly changed many of our lives and we are forever grateful!
Today, the Wolfa Coven has continued to train folks all over and has carried on the practice of initiating others into the coven and tradition. Other covens around the U.S. are now practicing within the tradition, and the legacy of what the Elders had established continues on…
A run-down of the contents of all five books:
Book I – The Covenant: gives coven rubrics on the carrying out of the tradition.
Book II – The Book of Beginnings: Complete and valid initiation rituals along with the Rites of Passage. This includes rituals from birth, all the way through death and transition into the next life.
Book III – The Book of Lights: the Complete Sabbat cycle ceremonies, along with the Book of Elders and Book of Exorcisms. The Sabbat ceremonies follow a cycle of action and re-action and are split between the “Celestial Rites” led by the High Priest and the “Terrestrial Rites” led by the High Priestess.
Book IV – The Book of Esbat: the New Moon & Full Moon Sabbat cycles.
Book V – The Cornucopia: the teaching guides and teachings on spellmaking and talismanic Magics to assist the Witch into becoming a competent occultist.
